Dan Hedaya
Specialty: Smarmy, Slightly Greasy Shysters With Five O'Clock Shadow

There was some debate within Fametracker HQ as to whether or not Dan Hedaya really qualified for Hey! It's That Guy! status. I successfully argued that too enough years had passed since his bravura turn as Nick Tortelli on Cheers for the average pop culture consumer to be able to identify him as such. Hedaya specializes in portrayals of weaselly, unkempt characters, although he has in recent years made moves to expand his dramatic range by taking on roles like Alicia Silverstone's father in Clueless, the least believable parent-child casting since Sally Field and Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump.

Recently, Hedaya has played supporting roles in such films I can remember off the top of my head as Marvin's Room, The Addams Family, Benny and Joon, Alien Resurrection, and Joe vs. the Volcano. This summer, he will portray Richard Nixon opposite Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams in Dick. It remains to be seen whether his playing a title character will lead to his promotion out of Hey It's That Guy! status, and, more importantly, will cause the general public to be successfully distinguish him from Danny DeVito.
